In celebration of Parents’ Day in Korea, BTOB will be launching a special event with their fans!
Previously, the boys released their ballad single, “Father“, in celebration of the national holiday. They’ve decided to go above and beyond that, however, by performing at a few junior high and high schools, including the school of members Ilhoon and Sungjae.
Starting on the morning of May 8th, the members will start their visit and pass out carnations for students to give to their parents to once again remind everyone the importance of their parents.
The boys visited some local schools to hand out carnations to the students who haven’t had a chance to give them to their parents.
The students welcomed them with open arms, and it was evident that the boys were already building a strong fan base. They also visited the parents of the members to give them carnations in person.

It has been revealed that rookie group BTOB will be releasing a new digital single as a surprise for all their fans!
On May 3rd, BtoB will release their new digital single, “Father”, which is a part of the ‘Emotions, Human Project Part 1‘.
“Father” is a ballad that touches upon the belated realization of the love and gratitude for one’s father. The delicate vocals in the track help envision the feelings of a father’s heavy footsteps and the view of his back. The song will be one that anyone can relate to with its dramatic lyrics about love and the emotional vocals of the members.
BtoB made their debut with “Insane” and has since received praise for their vocals and dancing ability that surpass those of ordinary rookie groups. The group hopes to showcase their wide spectrum of talent through “Father”, and has fans anticipating the released.
With their debut song “Insane“, BTOB has impressed the public by setting themselves apart from other rookies with their stable vocal abilities and skillful stage performances. Now, they are ready to stimulate the hearts of their fans with their follow-up ballad song, “Father“.
“Father” is a message of love directed towards all the fathers of the world just in time for ‘Parents Day‘ in Korea (May 8th).
Fans will be able to relate as the boys express the heart-deafening feeling they experience watching their fathers who were once so strong grow weak over time, and the gratefulness they feel towards their families that are always there for them. Furthermore, the lyrical melody and the appealing voices of the BtoB members are sure to add to the emotional punch.
The song was written by ballad hit-maker Lim Sang Hyuk, and the combination of the string instruments and the piano playing in the song will stir a renewed love for fathers.

“Hearing that I look like (Yong) Jun Hyung hyung, I am truly moved. However, because of this, in order not to harm either one of us or both of us, I always have to be careful when I go on stage and think carefully.“
“Jun Hyung hyung has a very strong personality. Actually, I haven’t had many conversations with him, but when I met him, he gave me advice, saying ‘Keep working hard,’ and often shows an image worthy of a sunbae. Keeping a sweet smile throughout the interview and overflowing with kindness, this lovely boy has appeared. Actually, it’s seven-membered boy group BTOB‘s rapper Peniel. When he was living in Chicago, he passed the JYP audition, and it has suddenly become two years since his arrival in Korea. To answer the questions, he needed to prepare beforehand, and he also needed a helper by his side. So what will Peniel provide for us today?
“How did I come to debut in Korea? When I was in 7th grade, I was very interested in K-POP, so I went to the JYP audition and passed and went to Korea. I wanted to learn how to dance and sing systematically, and after that, as I became a trainee, I truly wanted to become a singer to stand on that stage. It’s been over 3 months since I’ve been with my current agency Cube Entertainment.”
Before he answered the questions, Peniel smiled innocently and looked like a child with his eyes wide open, while we asked whether he had any anecdotes about experiences he has had because of the differences in culture and language between America and Korea.
“There’s a story from when I was a JYP trainee. While our dorm was under construction, all of us trainees lived together at the dry sauna. At that time, I came to know that while in America, we wash alone, in Korea, everyone washes together. At that point, I personally felt uncomfortable. He he”
The 6 members of BTOB have become indispensable to Peniel. “It’s not exactly that we have separate roles, but the members closest to me are always helping me out. (Who helps you the most?) Encompassing the manly charms of seven-membered boy group BTOB is Lim Hyunsik, who possesses a firm and muscular body and a masculine personality. Hyunsik explained that even when he breathes, his muscles come out. “I’m a bit sorry to the others, but before, my muscles would come out in anything that I do. Next time, I’ll be prepared and will surely show you.“

There’s more than one idol out there who dreamed of becoming a singer after watching world star Rain. Seven-membered boy group BTOB‘s main vocal Lee Changsub is of course one of those people. Before his debut, in order to cheer on agency sunbaes 4minute‘s comeback stage, he attended one of the broadcasted music programs, where he saw Rain, and he confessed, “It was love at first sight.”
“While we were trainees, in order to cheer on 4minute’s comeback, we went to a broadcast. At that time, I saw Rain sunbae walking over from a distance and thought, ‘Wah~ Cool!’ That time was the first time I seemed to have a crush on a man. (laugh) I really respect him.“
Fans have nicknamed him the ‘aegyo king,’ and it was suggested that he send a letter to Rain, who is currently serving in the army, requesting to make a supportive visit. “With Rain sunbae’s permission, I want to share all my feelings. How many stars can say they share the exact same birthday? Seven-membered boy group BTOB‘s leader Seo Eunkwang and INFINITE‘s rapper Jang Dongwoo are amongst those few stars. The two of them were born on the same day, November 22nd, 1990, and ended up in different boy groups. When presented with the news, being such an uncommon sight, Seo Eunkwang expressed his surprise, “Really? It’s quite shocking.“
Eunkwang’s response came out half surprised, half thrilled, as he was asked if the two of them were to start a 90 line private group, which member would he want to recruit. “My good friend BTOB member Minhyuk. Um.. Also.. Actually I have little acquaintance with stars born in 1990. Through our activities, I want to get to know more.“
During Eunkwang’s interview, perhaps it was because he was laughing so much, but it became hard to move on. As he wanted to become famous since his school days, I wondered what he was like as a student.

Releasing double title tracks on their debut album and actively promoting ‘Insane‘ with their ‘emotional performances,’ group BTOB is holding out as a challenger in the war between the boy groups of the first half of 2012. Starting from the team planning stages, they set off with the novel idea to develop a completely opposite image of a boy band within this dance group made up of members mastering their instruments one by one.
Lee Minhyuk: With the intent of captivating the public with our beautiful voices, it became an ‘emotional performance.’ Our vocal abilities also strengthened, our team became stabilized, and we were able to show our own strengths on live performances.
Unlike the existing boy groups out there, BTOB put up both of their debut songs ‘Insane’ and ‘Imagine‘ as their title tracks. Of course, in the interests of time on the music programs, although they aren’t able to show it all, they are definitely strong contenders.
Lee Changsub, Seo Eunkwang: Although we only got to sing the first verse of ‘Imagine,’ we were glad that we were able to show both songs. ‘Imagine’ is characterized on the vocal side, being of the ballad R&B genre, and with ‘Insane,’ we can show off our ace of a performance, so as a result, the double title tracks became our plus factor for our debut.
BTOB's INTERVIEW. WHO IS THE CUTIE?
During their many years of training, although they dreamed of a debut stage that would be well-received by the critics and the general public, the members felt much frustration. In order to make their next stage even better, the pleasure of debut had to be delayed for the time being, and they meticulously monitored themselves and step-by-step supplemented things they were lacking in.
Lim Hyunsik: When we stood on our fourth stage, quite a lot of fans had come to cheer us on. At that instant, I was very happy, and I began to realize for the first time that we had debuted. Rather than happy tears, all I could do was smile and laugh.
Seo Eunkwang: The day before our debut, while I was washing up with Changsub, we had a talk. We talked to each other a lot as we remembered our tough moments and enjoyed the pleasant feeling of debuting. (Lim Hyunsik: Washing together?) It’s not like that, why do you keep being like that~
Recently, on Mnet‘s ‘Idol Master ZONE,’ 4minute introduced BTOB as the ‘ggabul-dols (boisterous-dols),’ causing the members to burst out in laughter while agreeing with the name.
Jung Ilhoon: Sungjae and I, when it’s the two of us, we are especially boisterous. We have the responsibility of keeping charisma for the team, but as you get to know us, we are a distraction. As the maknae line, even behaving like babies, we have that cute side to us.
The members clearly have their own individuality, so what is home life with BTOB like? First of all, all the members of BTOB sleep together in one dorm, with Lee Minhyuk and the dongsaeng line (Peniel, Jung Ilhoon, Yook Sungjae) using the second level and the hyung line (Seo Eunkwang, Lee Changsub, Lim Hyungsik) using the first level.
First to get out of bed in the morning is Peniel, second is Jung Ilhoon who wakes to the sound of Peniel’s alarm, and third is Yook Sungjae who wakes to the sound of Jung Ilhoon getting down from his bed. Jung Ilhoon then wakes up the leader, Seo Eunkwang, who then wakes the remaining three members. This BTOB waking up schedule is repeated each morning.
Lim Hyunsik: It’s because of our lively dongsaengs getting up in the morning that we hyungs get a good wake-up call. Ah! The nicest and purest amongst us, Peniel, is really like a baby. Observing the rules of our dorm, for example, rules like closing things up well, he often forgets.
In their dorm, they have rules like put used towels into the washtub, throw your trash into the garbage bin, and each member can only put two pairs of their shoes on the shoe rack. Although members who break the rules are required to buy late-night snacks, they haven’t had the time to eat late-night snacks and all this while haven’t followed that rule.
Lee Minhyuk: When you don’t follow the rules, you must pay a penalty, but it hasn’t been like that, it’s been just words, we always don’t follow it. I’ve mainly been the one talking about cleaning a few times, but no luck.
Despite the members extensively pointing out Lee Minhyuk’s nagging complaints, “Why do you have to cry?”,the leader doesn’t want to revise their violation policies anytime soon. “Because the members sleep together in the same room, as unfair things naturally come up, from time to time, we solve them” and strengthen their teamwork, but they say they are group with brotherly love that have not argued even once.
Completely consumed by their debut, BTOB’s goal is to achieve recognition as a group. “We want the Rookie of the Year award and first place on the music programs, but in the long run, we want to overwhelm listeners all over the world of all generations and become a group that makes an impact with our music. Ambitions? What about giving music fans a culture shock?“

Good looking maknae Yook Sungjae “No one has the star force yet…”
Yook Sungjae, who had wrote “family” in the most important slot, is only 18 this year. He said that he has been thinking about the future of BTOB a lot and that he wonders when they will become popular. He enjoys kids so he wanted to get married early, but since he has work now he believe that it’s going to be hard and he said that he liked to play around, but since they don’t have the time now, it’s going to be hard for him as well.
He had said that he wanted to be an adult already, but his hyungs had questioned him saying, “Would it actually be great once you become an adult?” Watching his hyungs in their 20s now, he commented sound jealous, “It’s the perfect age for them right now.”
Yook Sungjae had stated that he wanted to become better looking. He wants to be more star like getting the camera shots more often. When we asked him who in BTOB had a look that is luxurious to be a star, he answered, “In a 3rd person perspective, there is no one with a star presence.” What a honest maknae.

The only B blood type Jung Ilhoon, full of passion
Jung Ilhoon had the special B blood type confidence. In the midst of his brain thoughts, right in the middle of everything is his dreams. Even though he had fulfilled his dreams of becoming a singer by debuting with BTOB, he dreams of becoming the Jung Ilhoon and the BTOB that will be able to debut worldwide and stand tall proudly.
You also can’t forget his confidence that he will improve. Jung Ilhoon had commented in a mature manner, “I don’t expect myself to suddenly improve out of nowhere, but I believe that you need confidence in order to improve faster.”
Jung Ilhoon was the member who filled up his brain the fastest and explained everthing very detailedly. He said that he wanted to become confident in front of the camera. He stated, “I want to be a singer who can play freely on stage, but it’s still really stiff right now.” Even though it might be hard right now since he had an injury on his ankles, but we will be anticipating his future.

Peniel who prefers English, “I limited my chocolate intake for my health”
Peniel had written his brain thoughts in English. For him who had come from California, USA, English is much easier for him. On the day of the interview, Peniel was wearing his university jacket (Hanyang University, International Studies). On one of the sleeves was his initials S.D.G (Shin Donggeun) embroidered on to the jacket.
Peniel had choose his family to be first thing on his mind followed up by BTOB. Other things he wrote were things like fans, friends, relationship with others, and thoughts about his future. After that was his health. Peniel’s book bag full of chocolates had always been known as the “snack bag.” Peniel had commented “I don’t eat much chocolate as I did before. Since I am an idol too, I need to think about my image.”
In order to fulfill his dream to become a singer, Peniel had left his parent’s embraces early in his life. Even though his parents has disagreed, he made the firm decision that no matter what he chose he was going to regret it in the end. When he realized that his singing and dancing didn’t improve after a while, he had thought that he chose the wrong path. But thankfully, people around him told him that he has improved a lot. He later confessed that was when he realized that he had improved as well .

Lim Hyunshik interested in fashion, “Collaboration is my dream”
Im Hyunshik had already been causing a fever with his composing skills. His final dream is to become a singer-songwriter so he has been studying composing music in his free times. He even has the confidence that he will become the best one day.
He had commented that he has a lot of interest in fashion and style. During the interview he was wearing stage costumes, however he stated, “This isn’t much different from the clothes I wear on a daily basis.” He added, “When I become really famous, I want to collaborate fashion I designed with a brand name designer.”
Besides the word “practice” which he shouldn’t forget, he also wrote down the word “Secret (Insane).” Even though it is the title of their debut song, it has a dual meaning for him. He commented, “You need to be secretive to have a charm.”

‘Coffee drinking man’ Lee Changseob “I want a barista license”
“First is my dreams and then it’s the stage. Every second I think about how I am supposed to be on the stage next. Third one and the fourth one would have to be practice. It is because you need at least that much practice if you want to be on stage.”
BTOB isn’t only targeting the music programs, but they are being very active in anything that would help in promoting them such as interviews and radio programs. Lee Changseob stated, “I want us to do an reality show that would help to show our real personalities.”
One of the things he likes would have to be coffee. From all the members who were drinking Ice Chocolate, Lee Changseob and Lim Hyunshik were the only ones with the coffee. Even though he hasn’t been able to taste the best quality of coffee, he enjoys going around the cafes alone and drinking coffee. He even added that he wanted a barista license when he gets the time.
